Cosmetic dentist James Goolnik has introduced a tooth veneer for those who dream of a brand new smile that is natural looking and pain-free. DuraTHIN® is a reversible procedure since the veneer can be fitted without the need to disturb the structure of healthy natural teeth underneath. It’s also virtually pain-free as neither drilling nor injections are required and unlike other ‘no-prep’ veneers on the market, they are hand-made and gradually shaded, making them the most natural-looking option.

Unlike traditional veneers, DuraTHIN® veneers are very thin porcelain pieces (around 0.2mm thick) that are custom made to adhere to the tooth without the need to have the discomfort of ‘shaving’, or preparing, the natural teeth.

Dr James Goolnik BDS, MSc who is vice president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) says: “I am very excited to be the first dentist in the UK to offer this treatment. Ideal candidates are those who have narrow smiles, or small teeth. However, this new technology is also fantastic for those who may wish to regain their youthful confident smile without the need for invasive treatment”.

Cheryl Baker, TV presenter, entertainer and Eurovision Song Contest winner, is currently appearing in ‘Pop Goes The Band’ on Living TV. The programme offered Cheryl the opportunity to try out the latest non-invasive treatments, which is when she turned to James Goolnik for the new DuraTHIN® veneers to get the smile she always wanted.

Now the face of DuraTHIN® in the UK, Cheryl said: “I’m thrilled with the results: my teeth had started to lose brightness with age and starting to erode and chip. The beauty of this treatment is that they are fitted directly onto my natural teeth without the need of an anaesthetic or drilling. James put me totally at ease, in fact I was so relaxed I even enjoyed watching a DVD of ‘Some Like It Hot’ whilst he fixed my smile!”.
