All Children should be protected from the sun
(02/07/2009)
Young Skin is delicate and vulnerable to damage, so protecting our skin when you’re young can make a big difference to our health later on in life. So it is crucial to be SunSmart. All Children, no matter whether they tan easily or not, should be protected from the sun. Pure and Gentle are campaigning in local schools to get children aware of the dangers of too much sun exposure.
Nobody wants to spend the entire summer indoors, and indeed some sunshine, below sunburn level, can be good for us, helping the body to create vitamin D and giving many of us a feeling of general wellbeing, as we enjoy taking walks in the sunshine and enjoying outdoors summer activities. However, all too often we over-do our sun exposure which can lead to a range of skin problems. Taking care in the sun will help to protect you from skin cancer.
Despite skin cancer rates increasing faster than any other cancer, with figures doubling every 10 to 20 years, making up a third of all UK Cancers, the majority of people still think that less than 1 in 10 cancers affect the skin (British Association of Dermatologists 2008).
So with these figures in mind Pure and Gentle SkinCare have put together some sun creams that can help protect the skin but are suitable for sensitive skin. They will not sell creams that are below SPF15 though.
