lavera natural mineral sunscreen range meets new EC requirements

lavera natural cosmetics has produced the FIRST and ONLY natural mineral sunscreen range in line with new EC and Colipa recommendations for 2009.

Pioneering natural/organic skincare company lavera natural cosmetics has reformulated its Sun sensitiv mineral sunscreens in line with recently revised Colipa recommendations to now feature an additional UV filter, the mineral ingredient zinc oxide. Together with titanium dioxide, which also acts as a natural sunlight reflector, these mineral ingredients are coated with Stearic Acid (from coconut oil) rendering the particles inactive i.e. they cannot penetrate the skin.

The lotions also contain skin-caring, cold-pressed organic sunflower oil, organic shea butter, organic calendula extracts, organic aloe vera gel, vitamins A, C and E, organic rose petal and lavender essences, and organic almond and jojoba oils.

The new Sun formulas are now even more effective with 95% of all UVB rays reflected at SPF 20. The line has been thoroughly tested at laboratories both in-house and independently, and now meets the UVA/UVB ratio requirements and labelling guidelines set by the EC. It is the first mineral sunscreen range to do so. Dr Hauschka and Weleda are NOT producing sun protection ranges this year. The packaging now features the new UVA symbol clearly displayed next to the SPF as per Colipa guidelines.
