Don't end up looking just like your Nan

With grey hitting the catwalk and being sported by style icons such as Kate Moss and Pixie Geldof, Schwarzkopf Professional Ambassador Aaron Blondell, Art Director at John Carne Hairdressing advises what to ask for if you want to take the plunge with this daring but on-trend shade so you don’t end up looking just like your Nan.

"This particular look has been talked about heavily recently! To get it right, you ideally need fair or pale olive skin and naturally light hair to start with as it just won’t suit darker complexions. The process will most likely involve bleaching to lift the colour to a pale yellow and then toning with a dramatic ash grey, not a concrete grey. This concrete flat colour only happens if the toner has been left on for too long and if the hair colour hasn't been taken care of."
