(03/06/2010)
British festival season is coming! Whether it’s Glastonbury, Bestival, T in the Park or V all festival goers need to follow the ‘be prepared’ motto to ensure they look and feel their best. Top hairdresser and founder of hair and beauty site wantthelook.com Lawrence Anthony, has compiled a check list of what to pack and tips on how to survive the festival season and still look great!
Hair
Even without a shower it is possible to have great looking hair. Tigi’s Rockaholic Dirty Secrets is a dry shampoo and ideal for the festival season. Simply add to dry hair to soak up any grease and revive oily locks.
Don’t just hide your hair under a hat when it’s not looking its usual pristine style. Embrace the festival culture and try one of Redken Urban Experiment products to create your own avant-garde style!
If the thought of going days without a hair dryer or straightening irons scares you fear not! As the Tigi Totally Beachin Body & Waves Styling Mist gives sexy surfer style hair by creating wave and texture this styling mist adds volume and fights humidity. Plus this product is 82% organic and has no artificial colours, as well as ingredients including coconut water, pineapple, mango and vanilla to leave your hair smelling great too!
When you're applying the sun screen to your face and body, don't forget your hair! Try Aveda's Sun Care Protective Hair Veil to stop sun damage and help moisturise and nourish your locks.
Not all festival experiences mean you have to go without a wash for days, but you still want to pack lightly and the Burt’s Bees Travel Shower Kit is the perfect solution as it contains all the beauty essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion and lip balm) in travel friendly sizes.
Face
It’s not easy to look your best after a night (or two) spent sleeping in a tent, with no shower and none of your usual luxuries. Add a slick of mascara to your lashes and a touch of gloss to your lips to give you a great natural beauty look. Try using Tigi Bed Head Cosmetic Mascara and Lip Glosses.
If the idea of going totally bare faced scares you from coming out of your tent then why not pack Dermalogica’s Sheer Tint Moisturiser SPF15. This product will do two jobs in one. It moisturises your skin whilst also giving it a bit of coverage, and the extra SPF15 protects your skin from the rays too.
Don’t forget to keep your lips nourished and moisturised and protecting from the harsh elements. Try Burt’s Bees Lifeguard’s Choice Lip Balm this natural lip balm contains nourishing beeswax to leave lips moisturised and smooth.
Body
Whatever happens don’t forget your deodorant! Dermalogica’s Environmental Control Deodorant contains a mixture of clove flower, hyssop and coriander fruit oil to eliminate any body odour.
Make sure that you pack these great sunscreen wipes from Dermalogica Solar Defense Wipes SPF15 for your face and body. If you’re going to be outside all day then it’s vital that you protect your skin, even if it’s looking cloudy!
The Tigi Rockaholic Go Anywhere Shampoo Bar looks like ordinary soap but washes as a shampoo too. Perfect for any festival goer the handy bar means that you don't have to pack a separate shampoo and soap.
